Surgery Improves Athletes’ Ankle Stability After Sprain

Dr. Li was featured in the Reuters News Health section for his research on surgical reconstruction of the lateral ankle ligaments for athletes with ankle instability that failed at least 6 months of conservative treatment. In the 62 athletes that were treated with surgery, 94% returned to their previous level of activity or sports with improved ankle function. This paper was published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine (#1 Orthopaedic Peer-Reviewed Journal based on Impact Factor).
