Dr. Li has been Appointed as the Assistant Team Physician for the New York Mets Professional Baseball Team

Dr. Li has been appointed as the Assistant Team Physician for the New York Mets professional baseball team for the 2011 to 2012 season.  His responsibilities include evaluating and treating professional baseball players from the Single A League to the Major Leagues.  Dr. Li was with the NY Mets team during spring training in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  He was also responsible for covering the home games and providing medical care to the players during the regular season at the Citi Field ballpark in Queens, NY.  During his time with the NY Mets, Johan Santana pitched the first No-Hitter game in Mets history on June 1st, 2012 and R.A. Dickey became the first knuckle ball pitcher to win the National League Cy Young award for winning 20 games with a 2.73 ERA and 230 strikeouts.  During this season, David Wright was also named as the starting 3rd baseman for the All-Star game.  Dr. Li very much enjoyed his time with the NY Mets organization and is very grateful for having this opportunity through the HSS Sports Medicine fellowship.
